Protect Your Retirement

Aug 30, 2024

Retirement savings scams are a growing concern as scammers target vulnerable individuals

looking to secure their future. Here's how to protect yourself:

Watch for Red Flags: Warning signs include promises of guaranteed returns, pressure to act

quickly, or requests for personal information.

Be Skeptical of Unsolicited Offers: Be cautious of unexpected calls or emails offering high

returns or exclusive investment opportunities.

Verify Credentials: Always check the credentials of financial advisors, firms, banks, etc. If you
receive an alert of potential fraud on any account, please verify the fraud notice by contacting the
institution directly, not through the contact information in the notice. This step is crucial to ensure
your safety. Scammers often produce fake fraud notices and contact information to gain access to

your accounts.

If you receive a call from someone requesting personal financial information, hang up and call
Tucoemas using the listed number on your account statement or the Tucoemas website, NOT

the number that called you.

Secure Your Accounts:
1. Use strong, unique passwords and enable two-factor authentication on financial
accounts.
2. Change important passwords every few months, as there are often data breaches that
you may not be aware of.
3. Consider adding a trusted contact to your account. If you are interested in adding a
contact, please get in touch with us at (559)737-5721 or [email protected].
4. Remember that Tucoemas will never call you requesting your sensitive account

information.

Stay Informed: Educate yourself about common scam tactics and regularly review your
account statements for unusual activity. Vigilance is key, and reporting any suspicious
activity to authorities is crucial. Protecting retirement savings is vital for financial well-being,

and staying informed is the first step.
