Beware A.I. Scams on the Rise

Mar 20, 2024

In The New Yorker's article "The Terrifying AI Scam That Uses Your Loved One's Voice," they showcase the disturbing reality of AI-driven voice scam technology. This article shares a heart-wrenching story of a woman who received a phone call from who she thought was her son, urgently pleading for help. Unbeknownst to her, the call was generated by an AI system that was able to mimic her son's voice. Scammers can often utilize even the smallest voice clips on the internet to create indistinguishable voice replications. This shocking story highlights the need for increased awareness and caution when receiving unexpected calls or messages, even if they appear to be from loved ones. In the case that you receive a call from a loved one through an unknown number or even a recognizable number urging you for funds or banking information, please hang up and call the number YOU HAVE in your contacts or on record for this individual. Please contact us immediately if you think you have been a victim of a scam. To read more about this story, please click here.
